About the event
Raised in Riverton and now based in Queensland, Jim Cooper has carved out an impressive international music career spanning several decades. From humble beginnings playing with The Courtelles in Invercargill in the early 1960s, Jim went on to gain attention in the United States in the early 1970s with his single “Quicksand.”
Over the years, he has released three albums and ten singles with a Sydney recording label and worked as a professional session musician, sound engineer, and musical director for a host of international acts. Jim is still recording, performing, and doing what he loves.
A consummate professional and an all-round great guy, Jim is always happy to play a gig when he returns home to Southland.
